They are the ones out there in the middle of a storm checking on neighbours, moving furniture, and making sure flood defences are deployed where needed, as well as running temporary shelters and sticking around for weeks afterwards to help people piece their homes back together. It’s exhausting, vital work that usually happens completely behind the scenes.

The goal is simple: to give these local heroes the visibility they deserve and talk about how we can all help build stronger, more resilient communities.
